Behavior Reduction involves identifying and reducing maladaptive behaviors while promoting positive alternatives, using scientifically backed interventions like differential reinforcement and extinction.
Skill Acquisition aims to develop a range of skills from basic communication to complex social interactions, employing methods like task analysis to ensure skills are mastered and applicable in everyday situations.
Parent Training is vital, equipping caregivers with behavior modification strategies to reinforce desired behaviors at home, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the therapy.
Our dedicated team is committed to delivering comprehensive and effective ABA therapy, driving meaningful improvements in behavior through these validated techniques.
Behavior Reduction: Identifying and replacing challenging behaviors with positive alternatives.
Skill Acquisition: Building communication, self-care, and social interaction skills.
Parent Training: Empowering families with tools and strategies to support progress at home.
Children with autism spectrum disorder or behavioral challenges see lasting improvements when ABA is applied consistently.
Our board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and registered behavior technicians (RBTs) tailor therapy to each child’s goals.
At Step by Step Speech, our therapists work one-on-one with a child to assess the particular difficulty a child may have with mealtimes or feeding. After the evaluation, our therapists make a custom plan for each child to address the issue with feeding. Because mealtimes heavily depend on parents, our therapists work closely with both the child and their family to develop strategies to better help nourish the child. Parents are encouraged to participate in the therapy to familiarize themselves with the techniques used to feed their child so that the parents can integrate this approach outside the therapy session. With the right type of therapy, a child will learn how to nourish themselves or allow themselves to be nourished, and mealtimes can become a calmer bonding experience for the entire family.
